Dr. Lindsay NormanLindsay graduated from Oregon State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. In addition to a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, she earned a B.S. in Animal Breeding, a B.A. in History and a Masters in Genetics with a minor in Biochemistry. After practicing in Ontario, the Oregon coast and Idaho, she returned to Malheur County to open Ontario Animal Hospital in 1990. Since then, her companion animal oriented practice has grown to over 1000 active clients. She particularly enjoys internal medicine, dermatology and soft tissue surgery. She makes her home west of Ontario with husband, Oregon Representative Cliff Bentz, District 60, and their children, Allison and Scott. They have two cats, Sushi and Tohru, and two goats. Henry, a Jack Russell Terrier, is her clinic companion. She enjoys running, gardening, and community volunteering, including work with the Boy Scouts of America.
Teri - Receptionist / Office ManagerTeri is a full-time receptionist and office manager. Her experience in the veterinary field started with an equine practice in Northern California in 1984. She has spent 10 years as a technician and 15 years at the front desk. While horses have remained a strong interest in her life, she has concentrated on small animals since joining Ontario Animal Hospital in 1998. Teri's duties include public relations, customer service, billing and data entry. Aside from Western and English riding, she enjoys fishing, camping and Mounted Shooting competitions.
Jennifer - ReceptionistJennifer is a full time receptionist. She has been with us since September,2004, when she started as a kennel attendant/boarding facility coordinator. Prior to finding Ontario Animal Hospital, she lived for several years in England. She now lives in Fruitland with her husband Tim. They share their house with, 2 Dachshunds, Scooter, Rosco and a Lab mix Miley. In addition to her many receptionist duties, Jennifer, supplies a wealth of artistic computer skills. In her leisure time, she enjoys supporting Fruitland High School sports, 4-wheeling, softball, golfing and camping.
Gretchen - Licensed Veterinary TechnicianGretchen became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2001, while working for Ontario Animal Hospital. She joined the practice in February 2000 bringing 5 years of technician and reception experience with her. In addition to her full time duties in the hospital, she is responsible for inventory management. Though all of veterinary medicine is enjoyable to her, her favorite subjects are client interaction and education, nutrition and laboratory diagnostics. Gretchen is a native of Payette, where she lives with her husband, Jamie, and their two daughters, Amberlee and Kynlee, three cats and her dog, Barney, a Shih Tzu and Mollie a lab cross. She enjoys family camping, boating and reading.
Trinity - Licensed Veterinary TechnicianTrinity is a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), graduating from the two-year program at College of Southern Idaho in 2002. She started with us as a kennel cleaner in high school in 1998. Now her duties include assisting in surgery, laboratory procedures, dentistry, and radiology. She particularly enjoys critical care and diagnostics. In addition, she is the Boarding House manager and is our OSHA and safety committee organizer. Trinity is a native of Ontario and lives with her husband Cody, 4 cats and 1 dog. She enjoys softball, crafts, fishing and other outdoor activities. She and Cody have a daughter Emma and a son Dylan.
Trisha-Veterinary TechnicianTrisha was welcomed on to the OAH team in May, as a part-time veterinary technician. She was born and raised in Caldwell, and moved to Nyssa with her parents and young son, Buddy, five years ago. Her backgound includes working for Caldwell Veterinary Hospital and Caine Veterinary Teaching Hospital for a combined 13 years. In 2009, she was put in charge of the medical care of cattle at Beef NW Feeders where she worked until the present. While she will be a part-time employee with us, she has a full-time goat operation, Huricane-PM, which raises about 100 milk goats. She is licensed with the American Dairy Goat association, is a dairy goat judge, and is Vice-President of the American LaMancha Club. Her other interests include teaching 4H and FFA students, operating her family farm, and riding her horse. She has two dogs, Fancy, and Carma, a lab, and several cats.
Hannah- Kennel AssistantHannah is our Boarding Kennel back up. She graduated from Nyssa High School in 2011, and is currently attending TVCC. Eventually she would like to transfer to Oregon State University where she wishes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Her duties at our hospital include cleaning the boarding kennel and hospital, caring for and cuddling our furry guests, and aiding as an assistant to any of us whenever we need it. Hannah enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, running and all kinds of art. She has three cats, Dinky, Nelly and Twister.
Lila - Kennel AssistantLila started with us in August 2008. Prior to that, she worked in the livestock industry. She is a full-time kennel assistant whose duties include supervising the cleaning and care of all boarding dogs and cats. In addition, her duties extend into the hospital side where she aids the technicians with restraints and radiographs. Lila was raised on a ranch west of Vale. She enjoys horseback riding with friends, camping and gardening. Lila and her husband, David, live in Ontario, and share their home with 4 cats, Lola, Rock Star, Curly Sue and Jackson.
Pat - GroomerPat has been grooming with us, since August, 2009. However, she has been grooming professionally for over 34 years. She specializes in small breed dog cuts, but will groom canines of all sizes and shapes, as well as cats. Her quiet, gentle approach has a very calming affect on many pets, making sedation usually unnecessary. She lives outside Ontario with her husband, Bill, numerous feline friends and her constant canine companion,Bernie. She works Tuesday through Saturday. Please come by for a visit, and Pat will be glad to give you an estimate and show you around.
Shawna - Kennel AssistantShawna is our most recently recruited team member. She graduated from Ontario High School in 2010 and is now attending Treasure Valley Community College. As part time kennel attendant, she enjoys the varied aspects of her job, particularly the interaction with her many new furry friends. Outside the clinic and school, she enjoys riding her two horses and hanging out with friends and soccer. Her best friend at home is her Chihuahua, Mini Me.
